VISUAL VOICES (VV) is a Nicosia-based NGO dedicated to socially engaged arts and peacebuilding. Established in 2018, VV creates accessible spaces for artistic experimentation, promotes multi-communal collaboration, stimulates public dialogue, and addresses environmental justice and other critical issues affecting target groups. VV’s mission is to amplify diverse artistic voices locally, while its ultimate ambition is to build a global community of organizations and practitioners who recognize the power of arts-based interventions for societal transformation. To achieve this, VV runs residencies, professional support workshops, exhibitions, campaigns, conferences, and community projects. At the core of the organizational methodology is a participatory, co-creative approach, alongside interdisciplinary and intersectoral collaborations. VV connects artists with community leaders, policymakers, activists, researchers, and diverse publics to enhance artistic careers, develop new methodologies, and create meaningful social impact. The cultural education activities follow the idea that arts and culture are driving forces for social development processes. As dialogue is essential, discussion-based and participatory methods are always included and relevant stakeholders are involved in our work. EDUCULT’s interdisciplinary competencies and international network allow it to design tailor-made concepts. Additionally, the organisation regularly implements educational and cultural projects, e.g. in the fields of music, languages, underrepresented arts, youth, civic education and participation.
